Warning: Tissues at the ready…

Warning: Tissues at the ready…

What an amazing and emotional last few weeks these have been! Since being back in the UK I’ve caught up with family and loved ones, hosted a very emotional 2 days of live training and planned my new, fabulous (if I do say so myself) training programme that will be launched in the new year. (Shhh… I’ll let you into a secret…keep an eye on your inbox as you will soon be receiving a very special invitation)!

Back to this week’s blog and I decided to follow on with the emotional theme, as part of my new question and answer series. May I please take a moment to thank you so much for all of your lovely questions that are being sent in, I’m thoroughly enjoying answering them so please do keep them coming in.

This week I answered Dave’s question; ‘What is the highlight of your career?’

As soon as Dan asked me Within a heartbeat I knew my answer.  There was absolutely no doubt in my mind what this was.

Warning: you many need a tissue. I cried when I filmed my answer and cried again when I watched it.

What’s the highlight of your career? If you had the extra income, what would you do?

I was so fortunate to be in a situation where I could help my loving and devoted dad. And do you know what… if I could do it all over again, I would.

I really hope you enjoyed watching this video as much as I enjoyed recording it for you. Answering this question certainly gave me a little trip down memory lane, so thank you so much for taking the time to ask a question Dave.

If missed last weeks video, where I was asked by Janette ‘How did you get started in property’ you can view it here!

I’d absolutely love to hear from you so please do leave me a comment or ask me a question below or on Facebook I’ll try my very best to answer it.

What’s Stopping You From Retiring Early?

What’s Stopping You From Retiring Early?

dbe76dd8ca6990cf0359b2409a679459Retirement! The thing that everyone counts down to! This is our reward after years and years of hard work. It’s an opportunity to spend more time with family, children and grandchildren, to travel, and to do all the things on your bucket list that you wanted to do but were too busy to do.

At the same time, it can be scary and daunting.

What if you haven’t paid enough into your private pension?

What if you don’t have a private pension and you have to solely rely on your state pension?

What if your pension is mismanaged and you lose it all?

What if you simply can’t afford to stop working so you have to work longer than you planned?

Real estate agent with house model and keysAll of these things are real. So many of my students had these concerns before learning that property can be the key. The key to their freedom. Just like it can be the key to your freedom!

But why wait for retirement? Why not start you journey to more time, money and freedom right now?

RetirementYou may know that the reason I began mentoring was because a close, dear friend of mine lost her pension through mismanagement. 58 years! 58 years of paying into a pension for no return. No safety. No security. No extra income to fulfil her dreams and to tick things off her bucket list.

As she was baring her soul to me, she asked ‘What would you do if you lost everything tomorrow?’

Belinda Barbados homeStraight away I knew that within a year I would be back on a beach in Barbados because of what I know. Because of my knowledge of property.

Property will get me back to Financial Freedom.

According to Which.co.uk: ‘If you reached state pension age before 6 April, the changes don’t affect you; in this case, the basic state pension is £119.30 a week (£6,204 a year) in 2016/17.’

Could you live off £119.30 a week? If this was your weekly income, what would you have to give up? What luxuries would you have to stop buying? What would you have to sacrifice?

Well… I’m so pleased to let you know that you don’t have to. Here at Team BG, we are creating and developing an incredible, accessible and life changing programme designed with YOU in mind.

I have put my 18 years of property knowledge and experience into creating a programme that will change your life.

I’m going to leave you in suspense a little longer… but I will remind you to keep an eye on your inbox as something will be pinging its way over to you very soon.

10 Quotes To Keep You Motivated…

10 Quotes To Keep You Motivated…

motivationmonday4When things don’t quite go your way or you’re so scared to make a leap of faith that could completely change your life, it’s your motivation and your big why that will keep you going in any situation. You may have heard me talk about why having a ‘big why’ is so important in other articles and blogs but for those of you that aren’t sure what it is, or if yours is powerful enough, here is my definition of a BIG WHY…

Set a goal that makes you want to jump out of bed in the morning“When you have made an absolute decisions about changing your life, you’ll have a reason why you want to make the change. ‘I want more money’ or ‘I’d love a new car’ simply isn’t a big enough reason. Your big why will be the sole reason that will get you out of bed every morning even though you are tired and quitting seems like the easier option. It will motivate you no matter how many ‘No’s’ you get. It will keep you strong. When your journey gets tough and you feel like you’ve hit a roadblock your BIG WHY will be there! It will be there to pull you through and to give you that mental push that you need to keep your motivation in check. You’ll know when you’ve found it as it will light a fire deep within your stomach.”

My big why was my daughters. I wanted to show them that I could be a strong independent woman and so could they. I also wanted to give them the financial security that I never had. What’s yours?

When I first started my journey and began to build (slowly at first) my property portfolio, I found surrounding myself with positive quotes, reading inspirational books and reading real life stories about people that were living successful lives so inspirational and so helpful. This week I thought I would share with you some of my favourite quotes to keep you positive, encourage, motivate, and inspire you:

  1. “You don’t have to be great to start but you have to start to be great.” – Zig Ziglar

  2. “Living in the moment means letting go of the past and not waiting for the future. It means living your life consciously, aware that each moment you breathe is a gift.” – Oprah Winfrey

  3. “Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.” – Marilyn Monroe

  4. “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.” – Maya Angelou

  5. “Few things in the world are more powerful than a positive push. A smile. A world of optimism and hope. A ‘you can do it’ when things are tough.” – Richard M. Devos

  6. “The individual who says it is not possible should move out of the way of those doing it.” -Tricia Cunningham

  7. “All the adversity I’ve had in my life, all my troubles and obstacles, have strengthened me.” – Walt Disney

  8. “I don’t mind living in a man’s world as long as I can be a woman in it”. – Marilyn Monroe

  9. What we think, we become. – Buddha

  10. No matter how many mistakes you make or how slow you progress, you’re still way ahead of everyone who isn’t trying” – Tony Robbins

Many years ago I also read a book called ‘Feel the Fear.. and do it anyway’ by Susan Jeffers. WOW! What a truly inspirational book. If you’ve not read it yet, I’d strongly recommend that you do!

Ipost-it-notes-clipart-7eTMnGXin really hope these quotes and others speak to you. Make sure you find some that resonate with you and immerse yourself in them for as long as they’re useful. I wrote some of my favourites on post-it notes and put them all around the house in places where I’d always see them. It sounds so simple, but it really does work! Try it! Remember that surrounding yourself with inspiration can create a mental shift towards positivity and creativity. It’s definitely one of the best pieces of advice I can give to anyone who wants to reach their dream.

I’d absolutely love to hear what your favourite quotes are and any rituals that you do to help you remain focused and on track so please leave me a comment below or share them on my Facebook page. I’d also love to hear what your big why is. What makes you get out of bed and tackle the world head on each and every day?

Happy Wednesday!

I hope you’re feeling relaxed after the Bank Holiday weekend! Don’t forget to let me know how you spent your extra day off work indulging yourself!

So back to this week’s blog and I can’t wait to explain the rule I completely abide by! The 80/20 rule! What’s that about I hear you ask? You’re probably think it relates to how I like my gin and tonic- 80% gin, 20% tonic! Haha! (actually I think I might treat myself… *remembers last week’s blog*) after this week’s instalment.

80/20

In all honesty, the more people I talk to, the more I’m seeing that people’s free time isn’t actually their ‘free’ time. Imagine, you had a blank piece of paper in front of you, drew a perfect circle and had to split into the time you’re at work, think about work, worry about work and actually spend time doing exactly what you want to do. How would it look?

I think you may be surprised with the outcome. Especially if you’re caught in the ‘time for money’ trap.

il_fullxfull.732885258_altj

I teach and am a true advocate for the 80/20 rule. I want to do 20% of the work for 80% of the benefit. Who doesn’t? Just to be clear, I don’t mean I don’t pull my weight (just ask the team)… I’d just rather work smart… not long. Again, who doesn’t? I believe in this so much this is something I actively promote in Team BG headquarters!

hard-vs-Smart

The reason why we can become more successful is to work what we call in our ‘Sweet Spot’, you know that sweet zone where we feel it was made especially for us. This could be the topic or subject or part of that job that we excel in.  Well, how can you just get to do that and nothing else?  If you could stop doing parts of your job what would they be?

f47971c711cf3121cc45947de365d50d

See, years ago I decided to outsource everything (slowly at first) that I didn’t enjoy, did not want to do and to be honest that someone else was better at doing than me so I could just do the thing I loved… created profits for my company!

Not only did I decide to do this in my company but in all aspects of my life. I even got a cleaner so every Friday when I got home from work my house was clean, tidy and smelling gorgeous.  In fact, even my daughters have had cleaners for years so they get time to themselves or on their business or just having fun! Who wants to spend their weekend cleaning when you could be out with the family or having some you time.

How would it feel if you outsourced the cleaning even for two hours a week or the bookkeeping? What would you do with the additional time?

So if you were to up your income, your life and your lifestyle, what would you let go of?

What would not serve you anymore to do? What can someone else do better?

What would you stop wasting time doing? How would you spend your most valuable moments to make it count?

Keep working to get to do the 20% of the things that earn you 80% of the income.

Please comment share with me on Facebook two of the things you would let go of.  And the one thing where you know if you did this you would make a bigger difference?
