Last week you may have seen my blog listing the crucial ‘Do’s and Don’t to become an Entrepreneur.’ I thought it was important to share this with you as so many people start on their path but don’t take the time to reflect or some of you are too scared to even start! I really hope this blog has helped and has given you the confidence to pursue your dream!
So, now you’ve had time to digest these and re-assess your own entrepreneurial journey (or start one!), I want you to start thinking about what you’ll be doing with all of the spare time you’ve created for yourself! That’s right! If you get your business model right, you’ll have tonnes of spare time so you need to start thinking about how you’ll fill it!
Would you travel? Where would you go? And who with?
Would you finally write that book that’s within you?
Would you start a new hobby such as salsa dancing and learn on a retreat to become a master instead of the odd class here and there?
Just take a moment to think about it…
While you have a think, I’d like to share with you a very personal story about one of my own favourite life experiences and trips. The icing on the cake is I was lucky enough to share it with one of my daughters!
We both decided that we needed some much R&R, but instead of going to one of the wonderful health spas in the UK for half a day, we decided to fly to Thailand for the ultimate relaxation!
We relished 3 whole weeks together enjoying a much needed detox… getting the goodness of fruit and veggies in us! We also realigned our bodies with our minds by enjoying daily yoga sessions and a daily hour and half massage. (It sounds relaxing but if you’ve had a real Thai massage, you’ll know the pain comes way before the pleasure!)
We also had the time to explore our spectacular surroundings. We were up and out early every morning, walking through the mist high up on the lush foliage of the Thailand hills concealing the well-hidden stunning waterfalls. They were absolutely breath-taking… I had to take several moments to absorb and explore my beautiful surroundings.
I remember on one occasion, we were walking back to the hotel after a day of exploring and we stumbled upon elephants being bathed in one of the lakes. Simply spectacular!
We also wanted to see some of the sights that Thailand has to offer so we booked onto some once in a lifetime excursions. We visited the incredible temples, bought original works of art from street artists and spent a day feeding and riding elephants. Both my daughter and I love the culture of the Thai people so being in the hustle and bustle of the streets energized us and enjoying the luxuries relaxed us.
We’d have a dip in the pool and visit the sauna during the evening and reflect on the day and plan the following day… such a hard life!
During this trip we shared so many special moments and had some conversations I’ll never forget. Spending time with loved ones was my big ‘why’ and I’m so pleased that I made my dream a reality.
Sitting here, on the beach in Barbados, I thought about this trip and realised that without the financial freedom that I have created, I may not have been able to take the time off at such short notice to spend time with my daughter. I know I can travel anywhere in the world, for as long as I want without worrying about my finances. In a nutshell, it has allowed me to have choices!!
So… have you decided what you’ll be doing with all of your free time?
I’d love to hear from you so please do leave me comment.
